We had the opportunity to speak with Aleksandra Wizor – a sports content creator from Poland working across top levels of international sport.
From UEFA to the International Biathlon Union and European Athletics, she works with leading organizations and covers major events worldwide.
In this interview, we explore her journey and the realities of building a career inside elite sports ecosystems.

Las Campeonas: How long have you been interested in videography/photography? When did it start? Is this something that began when you were young?
Aleksandra: I’ve been interested in photography since I was a child. I always loved taking pictures, and my parents bought me my first camera when I was in elementary school. From then on, whenever there were sports championships at school, I would take photos of my friends competing. Later, this naturally evolved into videography when I started working at a football club, where I was responsible for their social media accounts.
Las Campeonas: How long have you been doing it professionally? Was it difficult to get started?
Aleksandra: I’ve been doing this professionally for about six years now. I started as a sports volunteer in different roles, and after three years, I got my first job in the industry.

Las Campeonas: How did you become specifically involved in filming sports? Was this a gradual process or a sudden transition?
Aleksandra: I never really transitioned – it has always been sports photography and videography.

Las Campeonas: What challenges have you faced throughout your career journey? What helped you cope with them?
Aleksandra: One of the biggest challenges was that people didn’t recognize my experience because of my age. There was often an assumption that I couldn’t be professional if I was so young. The second challenge, unfortunately, has been my gender. I’ve faced questions like “Do you even know what offside is?” and heard comments suggesting that it’s impossible to get into sports at such a young age without family connections – which, in my case, isn’t true.

Las Campeonas: Have you ever felt that your professional experience has been influenced by gender bias from colleagues or clients?
Aleksandra: Unfortunately, yes, as I mentioned in the previous answer.
Las Campeonas: Could you share some of the most memorable experiences from your career, such as people you’ve met or events that left a lasting impression?
Aleksandra: I’ve just come back from the Winter Olympics, which is definitely one of the most memorable experiences of my career. Going to the Olympics has always been a dream of mine, just like it is for many athletes.
Another unforgettable moment was being invited by the FIFA Museum to ZĂĽrich, where one of my videos was featured in a special exhibition.

Las Campeonas: What is your message to women who want to work in sports but are afraid of facing prejudice or other challenges?
Aleksandra: At the end of the day, the only opinion that truly matters is your own. Don’t let other people or their judgments hold you back. Stay true to yourself, work hard, chase your dreams and make them happen.
