– Why do you work in sports/ what brought you into the industry:  After successfully achieving my goals as an athlete, I saw the potential to give children even more opportunities than I once had. I understood the challenges that exist in Kazakhstani sports, educated myself, and gradually built strategies to avoid repeating those issues in the management of my own projects.

What would you like to contribute to or change in the sports industry: I would like to see more educational opportunities for beginner strength and conditioning coaches. I want to dedicate more attention to inclusion in sports and its accessibility in Almaty and other regions. I aim to expand the understanding of sponsorship and marketing in Kazakhstani sports.

But most of all, I want to change the deep-rooted sexism in the industry – and to redefine what it means to be a “specialist” in sports. There are too many outdated stereotypes, from age to gender.
