– Nationality: Kosovar
– Current position and company: Legal Advisor for Sport at the Kosovo Basketball Federation (KBF)
– Education: LLB in International and European Law; I just graduated from an LLM in International Sports Law (Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid Universidad Europea)
– Work experience: only my current job
– Professional achievements: I have started working in the industry 2 years ago and I wouldn’t say I have any significant professional achievements yet; however, when looking back in these two years, I am proud to have contributed to the continuous reformation of the regulatory framework of the Kosovo Basketball Federation and to the Federation’s efforts and work in a EU co-funded project (Erasmus+) regarding safeguarding in sports (Safeguarding the Future), which is a first in the region in the sport of basketball.
– Why do you work in sports/ what brought you into the industry: I have always been a huge sports fan and the more I understood about the work done ‘behind the scenes’ (the exposure of which is also your goal), the more I saw myself being a part of it. After graduating from the LLB, I wanted to see if in fact I would like working in sports or if it was just the fan in me, and after working at the KBF, I knew for sure that I wanted to pursue a career in sports. I am generally a very passionate person, and sports brings that out of me more than anything else :)
– What would you like to contribute to or change in the sports industry: The sports industry is constantly changing and evolving, and I believe that, especially now, there are more and more different stakeholder interests to be considered. It is crucial for each to understand their rights and obligations and how they can contribute to the synergy of the ecosystem; My wish is to foster this process and drive positive change whenever and however I can.
